Wild Horse Roundup
Features:
The Pryor Mountains roundup has been postponed until Sept 3, 2009 giving time to the Department of Justice to respond to a lawsuit, filed by wild horse advocates.
Presently, there are about 190 wild horses on the Pryor Mountains. BLM plans to cull the herds by 70 horses. Removing 70 horses would put the herds' genetic viability in grave danger.
Mares not removed will be released back after receiving a birth control shot called PZP. At this time, the Pryor Mountains are temporarily closed the public for the roundup.
